Weird static noise
Weird static noise
Hey guys, sorry If there is a thread on this already but sometimes I hear a weird static noise coming from under the hood, I only hear it sometimes and it is not constant, I was wondering if anyone new what this noise could be, a 99-01 tl pulled up by me at a stop light and I heard the same noise,
I have an 02 tl with 102,xxx miles on it, thank you for any help

If it makes you feel any better, your not alone apparently. Lol that's just too funny to imagine.
I'm pretty confident other people will soon post, asking for a more descriptive post about the noise. "Static" noise is pretty vague.
Open up your hood, and listen for it. Where is it coming from? Left side of engine bay? Right side? PS pump?
Do you mean like audio/radio static? I don't understand. Maybe record a clip of it.

ya Im sorry about saying it sounds like "static" but it was hard to describe and that was the best way I could explain it, I dont mean static like the radio but just kind of annoying static sound if that makes sense, next time it happens I will try and pinpoint where the sound is coming from in the engine bay, thank you
Ok this is not my video but I found it on youtube, I think this is the same noise I may be experiencing, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

for referance- here is something I learned on azine!!
The ac has a ~cut off switch~ for engine startup, even if the buttons are set for ac,
it keeps the compressor off - to ease the load on the starter and battery, until the starter has done its thing- then auto on for ac
didnt listen to vid- but ac belt tensioner is common failure- get a mechanics stethascope ($3 harbor freight, more at parts store) and start listening for a noise thats not like the others

I tried to make a video but the noise was not loud enough to hear in the vid.
