theres a weird repeating put-put sound coming from the bottom of the car under the gas tank when acceerating it goes away anyone know what to do?

i duno...purge canister?

 

do you hear it while ideling? does it sound like something is flapping under the car? Does the car run smoothly while accelerating or is it missing?

 

Shouldnt hear that while accelerating

 

I hear nothing when hitting gas, it happens during idling it sounds like a constant like popping sound kinda like a pop-pop-pop-pop! I showed it to a freind he described it as a small hole in the muffler and air is escaping! The car acceleartes normaly but with a loud whistling sound in 1st gear that is heard from inside and out, freinds say it sounds like I have a CAI or turbo but I don't have any mods!

 

get under ur car tommorrow, and check for a hole....

 

weird... I have the put put sound only at idle and its probbaly the Purge canister.

the sound goes away after a slight rev and will come back after more idling.

 

But he said he hears it while accelerating. You shouldnt hear that valve while driving

 

There might be a misunderstaing, I hear it during idle. While idiling and hitting gas the sound goes away. When driving there is no noise, Once I let go of the accelerator and the car goes back to normal rpm's the noise is back. Anyways I just fiddleled around and kicked the underbody and the sound seems to have dissapeared for now!!
