Weird idle problem please look...
This is from another post about my 2003 Acura Tl with 200,000+ miles on it. I have changed the spark plugs, valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, intake manifold plenum gaskets, throttle body gasket, PCV and the MAP sensor. Now after I got everything back together the engine after started starts to loop, after about 1-3 min it stops and idles at about 1500 rpm. when it is idling it loops very very little but enough to hear it, lets say it fluctuates between 1450 and 1550 rpm constantly. I did test drive it and it did something odd, as soon as i would let off the break it would take off up to 15mph without me touching the gas. and when i would go to slow down and the rpms came back down to about 1500 rpm it started back and forth again between 1450-1550 rpms while costing. while driving it seems great although I didn't travel very far. Any ideas on what could be causing the idle change and the immediate take off at such high speeds? I did check and see if the hoses were all connected good and made sure I didn't leave anything not connected. I was thinking about adjusting the idle but would rather have your guys' opinion first. thank you again...

Were you experiencing a "weird" idle prior to doing the work that ya listed ?
Did ya install NGK plugs ? Is the CEL on ?
Some things that ya could try if ya have not already done so :
* Check for vacuum leak.
* Clean the IAC valve and TB.
* Clean and lube the throttle linkage.
* Clean the EGR passageways.
* Check fuel injector connections.
* Check the rad's coolant level and burp if necessary.
* Re-check all of your previous work done.

The IACV valve is the usual culprit when someone is having idle issues. Also check everything that mentioned above. The springs and the plate hinges sometimes get gunked up leaving the throttle plate to not close all the way.

3.2TLc no weird idle prior to spark plugs. only after I changed the valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seas, intake manifold plenum gaskets, and throttle body gaskets, PCV valve and MAP sensor the idle started acting up... Im going to try to clean the throttle body and check for leaks, hopefully today if not wednesday. I was thinking about changing the EGR Valve and possibly the IACV. thank you very much for all of your replies!!!

First thing to do is re-check the intake manifold and TB gaskets for possible leaks. Make sure that the PCV grommet is snug & look over any wiring/vac connections that may've been disturbed during your previous work.
If ya cleaned out the EGR passageways and port, don't worry about the valve itself....as they seldom go bad. Just clean and lube it. Same with the IAC valve, they respond well after a good cleaning.

I'm having exactly the same issue as you and replaced exactly what you have minus the map sensor, please let me know if you find a solution. Something that occured to me while reading and researching is that alot of the sensors use ground, if you have bad grounds on the vehicle wouldn't the sensors be thrown off???

In JDeMers87's situation ...... the problem occurred after the work done, so it's possible that something was inadvertently overlooked during the process of his repair efforts.
But, yes.....electrical issues such as poor connections and grounds can cause runability problems for sure.
If in any doubt, have the electrical system load tested and checked for scavenger leaks or possible shorts.
