Weird headlight problem ... please help
The driver's side headlight stopped working. I replaced the bulb and i got i to work. However I discovered several days later that the light was not working again. I checked that the bulb was not loose or something like that and everything was fine.
After further testing I realized that it comes on randomly. Once is one, it stays on until it is turned off. For example I drove for over 45 min and at the end it was on. So I don't think it is is because there is something loose. Basically, If I try long enough trying to turn it on, I get it to work and stays like that until I turn it off (Or i lock the car). So if the bulb is fine, the fuses are fine (I guess), nothing is loose, what can it be?
Thanks in advance,

Juan,
After you suggested to look at the ballast, I did some search in this forum and learned more about it. When I removed the light bulb I noticed some condensation, so I might have to do some sealing as it was suggested on several posts. By the way, it seems that a lot of people had the same problem.

Get a new or used ballast and replace it.
I just did mine this past weekend, and took about 3 hours total. You will need to take the bumper off to get the headlight out. You will also need a security hex wrench to get the inverter out of the headlight housing.

Quick Uddape on my headlight issue.
Thanks to the info on this forum I order an Inverter from DelRay Acura and over the weekend removed the front bumper. After installing the new Inverter the light still didn't work. Since I had the bumper off, I decided to switch the ignitor from the other headlight that is working. That fixed the problem. I then put the old inverter and still was working.
So in summary, it was the ignitor and not the inverter. Placed an order for the ignitor and will install it this weekend. By the way removing the bumper is quick. Make sure you have extra plastic "nuts" as you will damage some of them in the process.
I guess I need to sell the inverter. I paid $200 including handling charge and shipping. I'm selling for $150 including shipping. That's a 25% discount.
Order Details:
Product Number Description Quantity Price Total Price
33119-S0K-A10 CONTROL UNIT ASSY. 1 $183.95 $183.95
Subtotal $183.95

Handling Charge $3.95
Sales Tax $0.00
Total $198.94
