Ok so I just got this used tire from this place I've gone to before with a previous car and had no problems, but I've had this tire for my tl wore out pretty fast the threading is already showing, ive had it for a little over a month now. And on top of that on the side of the worn tire I hear a cracking sound when I go over speed bumps or when I turn.

 

used tires are a big risk,,,in the old days there were many good ones to be had as people upgraded rims and tires on new cars

Now,,shops will sell you anything with almost legal tread to make an extra 20 bucks!
did the donor car have bad stuts? probably,,and toe not set,,yep,,,
so they are going to work on a TL because???.....

Ok the second part in your first post I don't understand, after the stuts parts

 

when was the last time you had an alignment?

 

make needed repairs to suspension and allign car. also check for accident damage and repair before doing suspension repairs. after all is said and done, put new tires on car.

 

I meant--the donor car for the used tires probably had an alignment issue--as most cars do when they need tires,,inside edge worn out etc
thats call TOE on the alignment specs

worn shocks on the car show as a wave/cupping effect around the tire

 

and `work on TL`,,meant = Dont use cheap used tires on a performance front wheel drive car and expect them to last more than a month

spend a little on an important safety part of the vehicle
right after brakes--tires are really important,,or the brakes dont work!!

No snow in orange county but yeah what I found out was that the place where I bought the tires was shaving down the tires to make them look nicer and that why it wore out so quickly

Shaving to make them look better?? U mean like taking off scuffs and scars??? Seems very very dangerous. I say crash your car and blame them then sue their pants off... Nah just be careful though. Used tires is a dirty game. They will sell u some shit off the side of the road.

 

so we can safely assume a used car didnt come with fresh alignment,
and you have been driving it enough in SoCal to merit a 4 wheel thrust alignment

Dont let them bs you- a stock TL can only adjust the TOE front and rear of the car
no shims or other adjustments possible,,short of camber kits for those with lowered cars

60 bucks should cover it
their posted price is for cars with all adjustable setups--takes much longer than a simple TL job

a place with HUNTER brand machine tends to be better
the newest machine is called laser alignment,,but only means how the display is made onto a board---with a laser,,,
move the tie-rod adjuster nut till laser dot moves into the big X and secure the nut!
