the lights only stay on a minute- so most likely battery
Easy FREE test done at parts stores to check batt and alt for you
If it's over 4 years old- expect battery to fail at any moment!

This seems like a problem I am facing. Since 2 weeks ago, when starting my car, it sound like it's about to crap out....I need to take out my battery for them to check it right? They dont have any mobile battery checker? Any battery recommendation? Something good that I can get locally or any of the Kragen battery will do?

Drive the car to kragen or similar- they bring the tools to the car, one test the battery, the other test a simulated load to verify alternator output is good

Its not miles, its age and usage
3-4 years and call it goodbye
huge stereo- good luck~
Any brand battery of the correct rating will do
I quit believing in pro-rated battery warranty replacement and just buy the
`good quality battery`, ....when it fails someday- buy another one

yeah, i had this problem too. Car started very strong at first. Then i found the auto lights off function and used it every single time. The lights stay on for less than a minute after you lock the door but I guess day after day of doing it, it drained the battery. Then my battery when dead. New battery, start up strong.

I think I remember now...I went over to M.K. place a few weeks ago to talk. I left the car running w/ lights for a good 30-45 minutes. Maybe that was what cause it. Hopefully I can get to it look at this week.

but your car was running. If your you left your lights on, while the keys are in the ignition, then it won't turn off. I managed to do that a few times. Come to park turn off the engine, but radio still on, and the lights were on. Then, there you go. Battery dead

Went to Kragen today. The machine said my battery is putting out 11.38V and this other #. I dont remember what it's call, but the guy said it's very low. Bought the batter for $94 (before $10 refund for old battery). I notice that the previous owner use the same battery too; Autolite. Will change it out in a few days.

Your car will run way better now

The other number should have been the amps output of the alternator saying it was good- or they would have sold you one

I have a kirkland in the TL and a Kragen powered my truck for years and now autozone starts it

I just revisited the forums as my car with 103,000 miles just started starting really really sluggish... going to start with a cleaning of my terminals although I fear it's more than that. Battery reads 12.84v though... It's a factory battery that was replaced about 40,000 miles ago, maybe 2.5 or 3 years ago

ended up getting a new battery. Shortly after writing previous post and cleaning the terminals, battery just died and wouldn't turn the car over. Tried jumping it and driving around a long time - which seemed to keep it charged... but 2 hours later it wouldn't turn the car over again. So - new battery in - car cranks faster than ever. It's been less than two years on the Acura battery. I may take it by the dealer tomorrow and see what they can do

Yep. Im from SJ Too, bought my battery from kragens with 770 CCA which is probably what the other number is. It stands for Cold Cranking Amps. thats just a rough average. my battery puts out around 930 CCA which is more then enough. Just a thought, but buy a battery with a long warranty. i have 96 months on the battery, and i'm guessing my alternator has problems, but i already had my battery replaced 4 times.
