no i honestly didnt know about that. i hear from a friend that i need to clean the filter in the solenoid of the Vtec. but im not doing it till i get the gaskets.

i did start to take it apart but stopped and put it back together cause of the gaskets. 10 mins later i went for a ride and it was back for about 3 lanches then it happpened again....

if your vtec is engaging... stop worrying about taking it till 5 RPMS to kick in and treat your car a little better...

and where are you just "launching" your car?

take your car to 50 mph in the tip-tronic in 3rd gear. FLOOR it while dropping it to 2nd. my car "launches" and the Vtec just roars. The sound is just so dope. Only do that when a car wants to get owned lol.

End result i started to take apart the Vtec solenoid and noticed the gasket. After that i put everything back together and now its fine. Lucky break

I am kind of a newb, just bought my first Acura. I have historically owned Maximas my whole life. I feel like an idiot, but I know nothing about Honda motors. Anyone feel like hooking me up with some knowledge, what is the vtec? Is that a variable intake or something?

Its Variable valve timing VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). There is nothing you have to do to make it work other than floor it.
