Exclamation VSA problem?! Almost died!

I've been so skeptical about buying a used tl type-s for some time and finally had the nerve to go buy a 2003 with 44000 miles on it. The recall service work with the jet oil kit has been installed on the transmission back in January 2005.

The car has been doing something really strange regarding either the transmission or the vsa. I can't really tell which it is since I've never experienced something like this.

Anyway to my best description this is what happened twice on two different days. It only seems to happen at higher speeds when the transmission downshifts from about 40+ mph. It's only happened while I was getting off a ramp to get onto the highway and merging to the left. I would see the light indicator for the vsa flash a couple times while it seems like the car is hitting the left side brake and then the right side. It causes the car to swerve left and right. I sort of did a double take the first time it happened and doubted that there was anything wrong but then it happened a second time a couple days later while under the same circumstances. And these are under normal driving condition. There is no super hard acceleration or bad weather conditions.

I also had an incident actually while making a left turn where the brakes were being applied intermittently by the car itself. Once again these were under normal driving conditions. No bad weather or anything like that.

Any ideas?

I'm driving the car in fear right now... For now I always turn off the VSA.

I don't think it's the transmission only because it shifts pretty smooth and I haven't really felt any slippage but I'm not 100% sure.

My VIN falls under one of those tl 2003's that don't have the extended 100,000 mile warranty on the transmission.

Take it to the dealer and get it checked. Might be the YAW sensor
