vibration under braking

Hi. New to the forum, so sorry if i happen to break any rules. I tried seaching, but i came up empty, probably because the keywords i used werent too good. While braking at a relatively high speed, around 65+, i get quite a bit of vibration in the steering column, which i do usually as i get off the freeway. It only happens at a relatively high speed. Low speed there isnt any vibration at all. Any help is apperciated, especially if theres a thread that may already explain this. Thanks.

Same thing is happening to me, I have an 03-TLP and everytime I apply the brakes at around 55mph+ the steering wheel literally shakes.
Does it also have anything to do with the wheels? I change my wheels from 16" to 18" and didn't notice this problem when I had the 16" wheels. Thanks!

If it had something to do with your wheels, the vibration would occur at acceleration as well. If it's only under braking, 99% of the time, it's warped rotors.

My rotoras I put in a few months ago are (probably) warped to hell and back. I even get vibration and pulsating at slow speeds.

I'm going to take some sandpaper to them when it gets warmer and hope it's just a coating and not the rotor itself.

Thanks for the help. Now i have a good excuse to upgrade. Ive been readin bout the rotoras, but ive seen that some people have had problems with them warping. Ive been thinking about brembo blanks or rotoras with axxis ultimates myself. Thanks again for the help, even if the answer was kinda obvious

Looks like you have an uneven surface (transference of pad material to rotor unevenly or uneven wear on surface) of your rotors. Mine pulsate crazzy like that, to at slow speeds.
I think you best bet it to have them turned and use another pad or have the rotors cryo treated after turning them,

What pads did you use?

Didn't think you could turn slotted rotors.

PRO Satisfied ceramic.

Not to be repetitive, but its definitely your rotors. Same thing happened to me and I let it go for about 3 months until I almost got into an accident because I was feathering the brake so it would'nt vibrate. Stupid thing to do and I realize that now. Spend a few dollars and get cross drilled and slotted rotors. You can save a lot of money by going on e-bay. Thats where I got mine and they make a huge difference

You can, its just finding someone who is willing & it might cost a little more. Just call around locally. If they were drilled, then you would be SOL.
