Hey guys, I just got a ticket earlier.. The cop was a real asshole and said I didn't stop THROUGHLY.. He said he saw my wheels roll and didnt stop but I did stop. My court date is next month at August 14 2005. All I got is the yellow paper which tells me to go to court with a parent because Im only 17. Do you guys know when they will send me the fine or do I pay it in court? Also is this going to go on my record? If you guys know the price for the fine please post it here A.S.A.P because I'm very frustrated..

 

they wont send u a fine....ur gunna have to show up, if u plan on fighting it just remember (ur word vs cops word = U LOSE!)

 

You don't pay the fine if you are planning on going to a hearing -- paying the fine automatically admits guilt. But due to the variation among state laws, I would recommend calling the court tomorrow and ask them what the proper procedure is if you wanted an informal hearing.

Or you could just get a lawyer for a couple of hundred bucks and get off pretty easy.

You should call the number on the ticket. They will tell you exactly how much the fine is. You should also ask them if court is mandatory. It is very possible that you could mail your payment, or pay the clerk in person, and be done with it.
