Unhappy very frustrated

i've registered with acura.com with my car i purchased close to 3 years ago. last time i took it in for the srs light the service people were awesome. i purchased my car from ron tonkin honda but brought it to acura of portland. the service manager looks at my car and the vin then says, "oh so you know the service manager over at honda?" i was just like nope, just bought it off their lot. well to the point, it appears that my car did not get serviced for the tranny recall. i was driving around earlier and it seems like the tranny is slipping. i dont wanna end up driving and getting stranded somewhere. and on top of that when i purchased the car the it was not the best experience. itd be a 3 from 1-10. so my car has like 116k miles on it. im wondering if i should call acura directly. i need help though! any advice for me guys? TIA

Serviced for the tranny recall or not it has nothing to do with the slipping trans. That is a completely different issue. What is your question? are you asking if you should contact acura because your trans is slipping? Bring it to the dealer and see if they will help good will any of a trans replacement.

Wont make a difference. The OIL JET is what the recall was for. It was NOT intended to solve the problem with the trans clutchpacks, its for something completely different.

on the other hand, with 116k miles he should have a pretty good chance of heat damage on the gears = free transmission???

IIRC the trans fluid is around $9 a qt?

You don't want just a single drain and fill, you are supposed to do it 3 times.... drain/fill drive 15 min, drain/fill drive 15 min, drain/fill drive 15 min. Otherwise you are really not changing out most of the fluid by just doing it once... sucks that dealerships sell the 1x drain fill and call that service. Manual says it clearly but dealerships want to charge for 1/3 the service, go figure.

Only if they see it on the 2nd gear shaft. Its a VERY rare thing. To this day i still dont believe i have seen a single member with that failure on this forum.

Go out side and pop your head and see if you have the Oil Jet. That will tell you if it has had the recall service done.

I buy my fluid at the Honda garage / not the Acura garage. It's 6-8 bucks a qt. depending on what they charge. Last time I bought 3 qts. it was $23.00.
I change mine every 10,000 miles or about every 8/9 months. Tranny still shifts smooth with 123,000 on it. But then it's a 99.

OMG there's only a bolt that says ATF. There is no oil jet kit. Should I just bring it into the SOB who said it was done?

Yes bring it in.

IF your car had a trans replacement AFTER feb of 2005 however it probably wont have the oil jet as they built it inside the trans on the update.
