Valves at 58K?

Tried to search this topic but no exact results..

-I have some pretty noticeable ticking (guessing valves) when the car is stated cold, I can hear it from inside the car.
-Usually I do not notice it after it warms up or under normal driving conditions. When i rev up it becomes louder then goes away until back at idle again

**latley has been very noticable even when engine is warm..IS THIS NORMAL at "58k" miles???

It's because your headlights are tinted Has all the symptoms to make me believe it's the valves, though

a $5 mechanics stethascope from harbor freight tools or local parts stores will allow you a better diagnosis
if there is clicking and clacking going on thats different from the other valves--they need adjustment!

run 87 octane gas? live in the mountains or other things we need to know?

oil type and weight? normal interval to change?
ever run a cleaner like seafoam in the oil to scour the oil passages,, so the oil pressure can get to the valves faster?

there is a cannister near the firewall that developes ticks too, can replace it if bothersome

-Only asking bc its going to be at the shop fore tie rods so thanks for the comment "amua6"..
89+ octane, no mountains, guessing lightweight oil, no seafoam

-When i put it into drive ticking gets louder and follows the rpm to about 300 rpm past idle and fades away pas 1 and a half k rpm.

thanks

quit running 89 and stick to 91 or higher
run seafoam thru the gas tank, 1 can to just under half tank, to clean out residue from lower octane gas left on valves and pistons

that will often cause noises from bad combustion

It's probably the purge control solenoid that's ticking. It's attached to the driver's side shock tower. It's known to tick. It's not an issue with it, they're just noisy so no need to replace it unless you're annoyed with the ticking.

Would its ticking get louder with higher rpm?
I need to hurry up and get some seafoam through...

they always click! open close open close
listen with the stethascope and its a distinct pattern of sound
Each moving part has its own sound, get to know them!
