ur oppinion on buying a 2000 3.2 (recall?)

Well i'm about the buy a 2000 3.2 tl with 61k on it i would be the 2nd owner. I settled at 11,200 for the car out the door from 12,995. However i just found out there is a recall on these models.

I just wanted people suggestions before i sign the paperwork

1. can i still get this recall fixed?
2. Is it bad to buy this car if i would be the 3rd owner?
3. I actually called the Acura recall hotline and i guess this car had the recall taken care of in 10/24/2000 however i didn't know at what mileage or what was done. Is it still a good idea to get this thing how long do you think it will last since the warranty Acura offered on this recall for the tranny is only good until 6/20/07.
4. Does anyone have any exp with this model after getting that oil kit installed, like did the tranny still fail after the oil kit and around what mileage, bc the Acura rep said since it was serviced for the recall once I can no longer have that appy to this vehicle? All i get is the tranny warranty until 6/20/07 which is less than a year.
5. The dealer i'm buying it from is an infiniti one and at first they were like as is but threw in ur basic 1k 1month powertrain, im so anxious about this deal.

here is the link to the ad for the car

Please help

thanks

the potential newbie

1. What recall? If your referring to tranny your covered 7yr 100k miles.
2. You could be the 5th owner. Just as long as the car was well maintained you should have no worries.
3. If you say your covered until 6/07 what are you worried about? If anything should happen your covered.
4. As of Feb 2005 they 'fixed' the issue. No failures after that from my knowledge. And thats false information you were given because Ive had mine changed twice no questions asked.
5.

kthxbye

oh yea welcome to the forum

so your saying even after they honored the first fix of the tranny whether it was that oil kit or a new tranny, after u went back after a 2 issue with the tranny and they didn't charge you?

Yes, if you do a search you will see that majority of this forum has had more than one tranny in there car that was covered.

well it funyn maybe the dealer jsut wants to get rid of it, so u think 11,200 for this car is a good deal considering the tranny issue? will it even make it to 100k plus, this car is actually for my lil sister. I have been helping my mom buy a car.

she has got a loan from the bank the work order was sent from the dealer to the nissan finance company but and now she just has to sign and pick up the car this thur, but i'm still wondering can she still back out of this deal since the dealer has goen threw all this paperwork prob in the process of reg this car under her name, but she hasn't signed anything. Bc if this tranny issue is that serious i don't think a new 16yr old driver can handle an emergency siutation if it fails while seh is driving and my mom wanted this to last her through college it currently has 61k and has been taken in for that recal band ade patch oil kit and the tranny warranty is up in 6/2007.

So is she stuck with this car or can she still back out??

help please??
