Turn key nothing happens???

It happens on average 2 times a month, when I turn key to start engine, it's dead at key...nothing happens. But if I wait for several minutes and turn key on and off the car starts. I know people have trouble with the 99 TL shutting off when running and they change out the ignition switch and it fixes that problem. Does anyone have any feedback on this issue.

+1 on the ignition switch, try not to drive it until the part is replaced.

Welcome Acuratone !!!
Assuming that the electrical system and immobilizer are all in a good state of repair, it appears that the ignition switch is faulty as previously mentioned. If when it doesn't want to start, try wiggling the key in the switch and see if it starts then.

Replacing the switch is a simple "DIY" and costs about $50. Check out previous related threads and the "DIY" sticky for installation tips.

Correct, On an occasion or two, wiggling did work. Then 1 time I went through the whole shift sequence P>R>D>1>2>3 then back into Park it started. So its different approaches and the car would start as if theres nothing wrong. I notice that there are plenty of posts with the same or different problem. I also read that you may have to change the ignition switch more than once. That's Wacked......

I had this thought after I hit the Submit post button, Now with my ongoing problem, is it possible that the switch may give me that issue with the car engine shutting down while driving. Because that issue has not happened yet.

Despite the well known ignition switch problem with our cars, I'm going to bet you have a bad starter. Typically, the ignition switch will let you crank, but won't run as soon as you release the key. Or randomly quit, or quit when you wiggle the key. I have never seen one fail to crank, and I don't remember even hearing of it.

Yeah, with a single click and no cranking apparent......it could possibly be a dead or flat spot on the starter. Next time at a no start, try tapping on the starter's solenoid. Also check the wiring connections & ground wire.
