Trunk Drilling

has anyone drilled straight through the floor and into the metal in the trunk to mount down your sub box and if so is there any gas llines or anything near?

The sub box should be heavy enough so that you don't have to do that.

I'd rather have a little movement with the box while driving spirited than having to drill and undrill everytime i take the box out.

try using industrial strength velcro, worked for me

your joking right? I have NEVER had a box heavy enough to stay put with my driving.


OP. remove the back seat and attach it to the cross bracing. That way you wont have to drill thru the floor of the car.

Another thing you can do to check is drill a very small hole where you intend to mount anything & push a thin stiff wire through the hole to check for obstructions & clearance depth. Use a stop on the bit & do not push hard so the bit won't go any further than necessary. Easy to seal a very small hole if necessary.

right now i have two big cardboard boxes in my trunk to keep my subs from flying all over the place. i dont brake when i go around turns so i get better gas mileage

i bet u also think if u get up to speed fast and coast that saves gas too. The mind of an post adolecent, is invincible and impervious to good suggestions, stuck in its own ways to be later taught a lesson by nature or law enforcement

i just have my fullsize 18 in spare tire not giving my sub box much wiggle room, the amp is mounted below where the tiny stock spare used to be
