Transmisson on 2003 tl type s

I am thinking of getting a tl type s 2003 and I just found out about their transmission issues. I am wondering if this was only on the US models and not Canadian or if it were on all the tl type s models. If I have warranty will they cover the costs? and if I were going to get one without warranty how much do you think it will cost me to get the job done at Acura?

Thanks,

Datboi

There is a sticky on the top of the page on the info, You can enter your vin info at acura to see if your car qualifies, though with the age of these cars time is about out for most. ALL cars us/canadian had the isues.

all the cars were made in the Honda marysville plant along with the accord also

also if you are in canada, i think you don't get the extended warrenty like we do here, due to the legal case never happening there

also US car warrenties are not valid in canada, and Canadian car warrenties are not valid here in the US ethier

My TL-S had the dreaded D5 flash today, Acura dealer to install a new transmission shortly, only 55K original miles. All covered by Acura and driving a 09 TL loaner for now. Purchased this car 3 years ago as an Acura Certified vehicle which has had meticulous maintenance it's entire life.

Thank goodness for the warranty!

can't really complain, with them covering it fully, and giving you a loaner in the mean time
