Transmission slips when turning left

Yeah, it seems odd. I had my transmission replaced a couple of weeks ago and now with about 1300 miles on it, it's started slipping. But only when turning left. It seems if there is a lateral pull on the engine when changing gears, it misses the gear and revs up until I let off the gas.

I'm calling the dealer today to set up an appointment for replacement. Just thought I'd throw it out for any discussion. Someone at work thought it might be a bad motor mount, which could be since I had a mount changed during my transmission replacement.

I'm not even upset about having another transmission problem. Is that a sign of clinical depression?

Thoughts?

Double check the fluid level, and call the dealer. It shouldnt be happening.

sometimes a shipment of bad parts get thru QC at the rebuilders
One member had all the fluid deposit itself on his driveway on day 3
Its warranty, and loaner cars are fun to abuse!

if it's only when you're turning left i wonder if it's an axle-related issue?? i'm not too familiar with the construction so i can't make an educated guess but i think it's odd that it only occurs during left turns.

Good call. The dealer's preliminary diagnosis is a leak, indicated by low fluid. They are going to try and locate the leak today. I drove a tech around the block and very quickly demonstrated the problem. He said he'd never seen it happen before. But then he checked the fluid and saw it was low.

The guy at Enterprise is really starting to get tired of seeing me.

The dealer found a failed o-ring, fixed it under warranty and covered my rental car. Can't beat that. Hopefully I didn't do any damage during the few days I drove it with low fluid.

BTW and totally off topic, why is it sometimes I can edit my previous post and sometimes I can't. Is there any FAQ or guidelines on this? I didn't really want to add a reply and bump the thread.

dont make left turns just make 3 more right ones and you will be on the right path. Trust me it works.

*sigh* Just got it back this morning. In the brief times I've driven it today, I've felt it stuttering between 2nd and 3rd, heard it make some grinding noise, and felt rough shifting.

I suspected something wasn't right as soon as I drove the new transmission. It stayed in gear much longer than my previous one, hanging on until 3-4k RPM even on light throttle, and I don't recall running my rpm at 2k at 75mph. I thought it was 1.5k.

I'll give it a few thousand more miles before I report it, so maybe it will be more noticeable when they road test it.
