Transmission issue?

Hey guys haven't posted here for a long time since I haven't had any issues but now I think my transmission is slipping. So I have had the car for about 3 years and kept up with all the maintenance oils changes coolants flushes and ATF changes. I was driving home yesterday and I noticed that when I press the gas the RPms would rev up , and I knew it had to be a transmission issue. I shut off the car and turned it on and now when I put it in any gear park reverse drive , d1 d2,d3 etc it won't move. I parked it overnight and I started it in the morning and the cel light when on. I have a 3rd party warranty called AutoSAVE but I heard a lot of bad reviews about them so I'm just hoping it's a minor fix in the tranny. they only cover up to 2,000 on transmission work and 3,000 on engines.

Hey Hondakid23, for shits and giggles.....check the tranny fluid level and condition. Try to have the CEL code read as it may help. Is the "D5" dash indicator light also flashing ?

Ya could check under the tranny to make sure that it's solenoid switch's connectors and range selector have not been damaged or loose. Look for leaks and inspect the drive shafts.

Get out your "AutoSAVE" warranty paperwork and have them explain what they can do for ya at the present time.

Do what 3.2 tlc recommends and go to your local auto zone or equivalent and have the codes read. I had an after market warranty on one of my cars in the past and they honored all the repairs under warranty. The company if reputable will honor their warranty, check also if there is a deductible, mine was 100 bucks.

No the d5 light is not flashing but I can try to go to an autozone and check to see what the code is,only issue is that the car really doesn't move I try to put it in drive and the car will move like 4 ft and then the Rpms will rev up high .

Was there any previous symptoms before.....or anything unusual that may have affected the tranny ? What have ya checked so far ?

Try to borrow a code reader if ya can, otherwise call "AutoSAVE" and go from there !!!

Your transmission sounds like it is done. Shop around before you buy call some salvage yards for an 06/07 Accord transmission. Some salvage yards will install it for you also.

Replace your tranny and try not to rebuild! Call your warranty people give them a heads up when you settle on someone.

well i brought it to a shop and they ran a test, seems the only code they are pulling is bad connection/signal from ecu or pcm to transmission

im confused on what the pcm module is, but he said there is an electrical problem thats not allowing your gears to shift correctly, and if not fixed can mess up my transmission.

What did the shop quote ya for a price to replace the PCM ?
If they're sure that's the problem and guarantee their work.....it may be much cheaper than a new tranny.
Do ya know the code which they retrieved ? Maybe a bad solenoid switch ? Get another opinion.

First what year is your TL ?
check the ground connection on the thermostat housing, thats the main ground for the ecu.
Check all 12 connectors on the transmission specially the solenoid ones.

I've noticed on 99 TL`s when the front engine mount is broken the linear solenoid connector breaks off do to the clearance with it and the battery tray so check them.

To my knowledge ECU is the same as PCM ECM.
