Transmission Help- Vibration

I have 2000 Acura TL, at 87000 mile.
My transmission is vibrating while shifting from 1st to 2nd. What would be the problem. I know there is a recall but it is for 100,000 or 7 years. so i am not qualified. Am I?

Since you are still under the mileage by quite a bit, you might be able to get the transmission replaced for free. You're over on time, the warranty is 7 years, 9 months or 109,000 miles. Take it to the dealer and let them drive it around. Once they determine that it's bad they will call up Acura Corp and try to get you a free transmission. Some dealers are more helpful than others so it's not a sure thing. Talk to the service manager, not the service writer, about your transmission problem. Let him know that you are aware of the extended warranty and you would greatly appreciate his/her assistance in getting your car covered under warranty. If not completely free, they may get you partial coverage such as you pay the labor ($500 I think ) and they cover the transmission. Usually that results in you getting a 3 year/36K mile warranty for even more peace of mind. Read the Tranny Failure Thread for more info/advice. Good luck to you.
