hi... here is what happened...

i was on the freeway... my transmission went out... broke down completely... i had to stop on the freeway... towed to dealership... they said since it's over 100000 , they have to charge me $4500... so i took the car to autoshop and fixed it for about $2000 with new transmission...

but i found out acura TL 3.2 2002 has recall regarding transmission... but dealer didn't say anything when i took it to dealership.... i called company and recall should apply regardless how much millage i ran... i believe they should had fixed it for free...

anyway... now i am trying to figure out if i can get money back / reimburse money i spent for fixing transmission..

does anybody have idea? i really appreciate... thanks

 

The recall wasnt for the transmission. Its for a oil jet to be added to the tranny. they wont reimburse you for the tranny. It has nothing to do with your failure.

How many miles did you have on the tranny that died??
