fluid is ckd this way:
drive on freeway cruising for 15 minutes-
get off freeway and immedialty park in safe level spot
Put in Park- turn engine OFF
remove trans dipstick and wipe off- insert fully- remove and read
Should be halfway between the upper 2 dots
anywhere between those 2 is ok-

Make sure its the trans dipstick you are cking!

thats the right level for that trans temp- fluid level changes with temp,,get false readings

how does the fluid smell and look? black- red- burnt sugar?

had the recall install oil jet kit done? look on top of trans for hose thing where the filler bolt would go -top center

if you need to change fluid the drain bolt is under the car at rear of trans- has round screw in plug with 3/8 drive ratchet square fitting to remove

above it cast in the block ATF
unless you added some it should not get low or be overfull

isnt that code torque convertor?
how the shifting?
a 99? miles?
do you already know whats next??

If you're saying the tranny is overfilled by 1 qt that could cause torque converter failure.

Drain till it's at the correct level, reset CEL BUT (big but) the damage is probably already done. If you notice very hard shifts, the TC is gone and it's time for a tranny rebuild.

STOP!!! dont drain anything yet!!

he said nothing about any fluid service or having added fluid recently
just got a code reading (guessing cel came on)
Then ckd fluid level -in unknown manner- the TL having an unusual method with the slight warmup drive then engine OFF..ck with engine off
thats opposite everything we learned as kids eh~

SO lets start with proper inspection of fluid level, if its good- move to condition
by smell and color
next would be a few road test ,,, clutch packs for slipping
BUT
if the level is actually good, and fluid has burnt sugar smell and dark color to it, the clutches are coming apart and clogging the TQ outlet filter screens as it operates
Let it sit 30 minutes and drives fine for a while until crud clogs screens and stops/limits oil flow = trans wont shift

rebuild time is the short answer

bad wire at shift selenoid under car can cause false codes-- to alert to some sort of problem,,the codes are clues not actual diagnosis
