No offense but this is a common question and a simple search would have found the answer - Honda ATF Z1 fluid.

Question

I don't know too much about this but, the drained fluid is used to refill? or do you refill it with new fluid every time?

Drain the fluid, and refill ONLY with new fluid. ALWAYS!

I just did a drain and fill and I went to Acura and got the fluid. It cost me a little less than $40 for 4 quarts.

That is such a FAIL on my behalf.

IMO stick with OEM fluids.

Do not flush because the car doesn't like that. So drain it.

What slvrcrunch described isn't flushing, it's simple drain and refill.

I have no idea what the phrase 'if our cars like royal purple' means. Either the tranny fluid meets the Honda/Acura ATF Z1 spec or it doesn't. That's listed on the bottle and at the fluid manufacturer's web site.

yea im talking about a drain and fill. just want to do it 2 or 3 times to try to get the most of crappy fluid and metal shaving if any out.
MIKEPA, iwas worried about the tranny basically failing sooner or at all with the royal purple Max ATF tranny fluid. ive never ran synthetic tranny fluid in any of my cars, and i know the transmissons on our cars go out quickly so im skeptical about it.

There are only 2 choices for tranny fluid.

1. Honda ATF Z1 (my choice)
2. Other fluids that specifically claim they meet the Honda ATF Z1 specs. Amsoil claims this for their synthetic fluid.

If Royal Purple doesn't specifically claim to meet the Honda ATF Z12 spec, don't use it.
