Tranny Advice - to replace fluid or not...

Okay TL-S guys I've got a question for you on my 2002 TL-S and the tranny. My first tranny went out with 27445 miles and was replaced by Acura on 12-Dec-2003. Then on 27-Dec-2004 and 41552 miles the recall came in and the dealer installed the oil jet kit ( I assume ATF lube pipe?).

Well the car now has 121,000 on it and I'm getting ready to do the big tune up on it and one of the items I've considered having done is the tranny fluid replaced or flushed/replaced. Based on the comments I'm seeing I'm wondering if I shouldn't even do that and just leave it alone. I'm not sure if I will ever have a problem with the tranny again, but not sure I want to risk it either.

I called my local dealer and told them and he said all you guys who have had problems (2-4 tranny is not driver error) after a fluid change had the problem before and that is why it failed. Personally I think this is BS and when I asked him to give me a guarantee the new fluid won't harm the tranny he said he could not do that.

So what do you guys think I should do? (1) Get the tranny fluid changed and cross my fingers (2) Leave the fluid as it is and cross my fingers or (3) sell the POS and let someone else deal with it.

O.K I don't have a TL-S (I wish) but I have a 2000 TL-P with original tranny. The previous owner didn't change the fluid so When I bought it (140K) I did the transmission flush. Unfortunately Honda Dealership used some kind of machine and did a so called Power Flush (BAD, BAD, BAD). So I started to had issues with transmission like shaking when switching to 4th gear. So after 5K miles I decided to flush it again but this time I went to Acura and they told me that they never recommend power flush. Now after that fluid change I don't have issues so far. Transmission is action good.

The Bottom line is ... fluid change worked for me but I am a novice so wait for a guru to suggest something.

Lastly I am amazed that how can you call Your TL-S a P.O.S ...! They one the best cars out there.

Well I must have gotten one of the bad ones then. First of all it is a rattle box which drives me completely crazy! Then the interior is falling apart and it isn't from abuse. Almost every single one of my doors the glue joints are weakening poping the plastic seams. Maybe saying it is a POS is going to far, but frustration is starting to kick in. I guess I just need a new car!

def do a fluid change after xxxxxx amount of mileage. flushs are not recommended because of deposits built up over time and failure could occur. a change will get rid of the deposits at the bottom of the pan. im doing a change right now at 82xxx miles on the 1st tranny. i just got my car last month so i dont know if its been changed since. i let you guys know what the fluid looks like.
