Mt 2003 trans blew up with 73 thousand on it. almost killed me and threw me through the windshield. Car stopped launched into a jam and I feared for my life. One dealer in Farmington MI Suburban Acura carried me the dealer is helping and repairing my car almost free of charge. this after lots of stories about vin #'s, warranties, etc.... the trans has been a night mare for that company. they replaced it all and I paid 85% of $4500 this will keep me loyal go Acura you got my good words!!!!!

I am going to guess that car never got the recall installed external oil jet kit
that was to prevent breaking of the 2nd gear shaft and sudden stopping of the car at freeway speeds- as the op experienced
in which case acura should have replaced it all free as warranty
the VIN story was a court case that extended the warranty for most of us, the cutoff vin was only to settle the case and did not mean a fix
acura knows it and anything they said was song and dance for you
Hopefully you paid 15 percent not the majority under `goodwill warranty`
that should have come with a 3/36 warranty with it as well
change the fluid yearly on the fresh trans--just the 3 qt drain and refill will help

I've been getting this bs from all the dealers. My car didn't fall under the VIN and I had to pay for my tranny when it failed last year. Is there any official statement about what you just mentioned above.

only have acura corps actions for the past several years.. and a general policy of no hassle to out of vin cars to go on--no official printed item will exist
They did the court case--needed a vin to close the case,, and the saga began
read the main Tranny Failure Thread and see the many stories of goodwill
It helps to know this info but there are many who got help without any request--manager simply made the calls and it was approved
as long as you have a decent relationship with the dealer, the service manager should go to bat for you with the regional warranty rep
past them.. you go direct to corp and ask for assistance, show why you are a loyal acura family, use the service dept in the past..trans failure below 80kmiles...
if you are a major pita who always wants free stuff from--well....

have you been to several dealers--
has the trans actually been diagnosed by them and acura corp turned you down flat?
what year and miles?
trans replaced before under warranty??
--when oil jet kit recall was done some cars had bad trans and it was replaced then.
look for blue paint on the bolt heads for trans main bolts--thats a warranty unit
