Timing Belt

I own a 2000 3.2 TL. Currently there is 140,000 miles the acura. As well as a new tranny at 100,000 miles. My question is what can i expect to pay on a new timing belt as well as a new water pump? The dealership wants about $750. Thats everything parts and labor.

Also, am i treding on thin ice driving at 140,000 miles with a timing belt that has never been replaced?

yea, ur still lucky that it didnt break, parts should cost around $300, timing belt, water pump and i believe its a good idea to change the idler pulley

use this site to help u find your parts

thats pretty cheap for the dealership!!
Get a list of what parts they will replace- and as rajca says- replace the pullies now- save hundreds later
Get new belts
Seafoam (DIY)
change the plugs, air filter, and cabin filter yourself and save big

Honda or a private import shop can do the job well, less labor rate= more parts for same price

750 is cheap for a dealer. Id jump on it. Or do it yourself. I wouldnt waste much more time waiting either. While mileage isnt as big a factor age is. Your getting up there.

A Honda dealer quoted me about the same ($800, timing belt/water pump). Is there a difference since it's a Honda dealer and not an Acura dealer? I know it's the same company in the end, but does it make a difference mechanically? Those of you in Chicago, it's the Carr's Honda Center (6600 N Western Ave).

I plan on letting them do the timing belt, water pump, idler pulley and I'm gonna do the spark plugs, and air filter.
