Tie rod end help!

So I jus finished 3 hours of grueling upper control arm changing on both sides in front. I need to do outer tie rods next and upon jacking my car up found out the tie rod ends are installed nut side up. Let's so you are looking at the tie rod end while it's still attached and is installed. Instead if sliding the bolt down and having nut on bottom he put bolt from bottom through and installed nut on tpo. Is that right?? I had a friend do my ends about 3 years ago and I'm wondering if he installed them correctly. Sorry if this sounds garbled I'm at bar having a few vodka sodas taking a break.

There might be some confusion because the 3rd gen uses it with the nut below but to clarify they are installed in the correct way.

2nd Gen the Nut goes on top
3rd Gen the Nut goes below

Awesome!! I was wondering why nut is on top since every car I've had the nut is on bottom. Now I can finish my vodka break and finish this suspension bs

did you see the cotter pin also at the bolt? Mine doesn't have the cotter pin which is not correct.
