acura tl-s flashing green key
My acura tl-s was at the dealer who said there was a problem with the ecm. I verified this with an ocb II scanner (error P1607).. I changed out the ecm with one from the scrapyard. Vehicle will crank but flashing green key light comes on. Not sure if the old ecm had a flashing green key. The car unlocks and locks ok with the fob. Does the ecm provide the code for the immobilizer? New ecm has no error codes when in position II. All ideas welcome!

The ECM is married to the Key Chip.
If you didn´t get the Key from the scrapyard car it wont start..
This means your old key wont work with the new ECM.

anyway to read a code from the ecm to get a key made
Thanks Skirmish. Is there a code in the ecm that I can extract that allows for a key to be made to mate with the ecm? I saw an ID code when I was scrolling down the OBC II info.

I sincerely do not know the answer to that... Probably best to call the Dealership? I think it must be doable because people tend to lose keys, I expect them to tell you that you have to Tow the car to the dealership though.

Try your local automotive locksmiths. Many have a mobile service who can come to you and program your ECM on the spot. Might be cheaper than the dealer

if I have a matched set (ecu, immobilizer, key)
If I have buy a used matched set (ecu, immobilizer, and key(s)), should I expect this to work in my 2002 Acura TL-s? They are offered used on ebay. I'm tempted to get it.

Now you will have a different problem.
The key ignition switch needs a specific Key Cut to turn.. BUT there is a silver lining at least, Now that you have the correct chip you can go to a local smith and have it cloned with a new key using your old key for the cut and the new key chip for the chip code. That should get it running.

Well, I bought a key from Acura and had to pay $100 to get it coded. No I do not recall what the key cost.

My purchase of a matching set of ecu/ignition lock/immobilizer/key did not solve my problem. Digging a little deeper, I came across a thread on the PGM FI relay. I found the no-start problem in the broken solder joints on the circuit board. I resoldered the connections and voila: car started!
Now I'm trying to reprogram the key fob (I have two). I haven't found an internet solution that works (youtube). Anyone have a suggestion on how to match my fob to my locks? It's possible that the battery needs to be changed in the fob.

If the immobilizer isn't sync-ed to the ecu, the engine would start. Mine starts and runs fine. Sill unable to program the FOB.
Have another issue. My heater fan runs at high speed at all times--even without any of the controls plugged in! The heater motor relay is fine.
