Ticking Noise?

I have an 03 TL type S. Ive been hearing a ticking noise coming from the top right of my hood. that would be the drivers side right below the windshield, also when that ticking is occuring if you press the accelorator and when you let off there is a sound almost like air being released, almost like a blowoff valve for a turbo. The ticking only occurs when it is idiling and not all the time, any help appreciated.

The Drivers side of the car is considered the Left side.

Ok now for your issue. Thats completely normal. You can live with it or buy a new Purge Control Solenoid and install it. Its very easy and is only like 25-30 bucks.

Kris, I was under the impression that even with a new Solenoid the tick may still be there just because the noise is part of normal operation for the solenoid. Yes/No? Or it is only a Acura solenoid problem and a quieter after market one would be better?

The tick does bother me quite a bit and if there is a way to make it better, I am in.

I would try getting a new one. It shouldnt make so much noise that it bothers you. Its a common thing that "ours" makes noise but most who replace it have had good luck with it being quieter.

That part that has two tubes connected to it? Mine make noise too and its actually the engine mount control solenoid. It gets vacumn from the manifold through one tube and the other goes down into a splitter then to metal lines then back to a short rubber tube that enters both hydraulic mounts. Mine clicks after you rev for a moment and relase. It clicks once just like a blow off valve or something. I think its normal but can you confirm where the top hose is going and the bottom one?

I experience this noise on occasion. It is annoyin but usually goes away the next time I drive the car. If it gets consistant I will just replace it.
