TCS light and engine shuttering/hesitation
Ive searched the forums and its seems no ones had the problem ive had, or atleast I couldnt find it
I have a CAI, and may have sucked up some water the other day, but I didnt even think it was a big deal. So I turned on the car today and the idle runs at about 1200 and sometimes will go up to 2000 then back down automatically and keep doing that endlessly. I had this issue before, but never had the TCS light come on while driving. Also when I hit about 3000 rpm the engine will stutter for a good 20 seconds almost as if the tranny wont switch to 2nd or 3rd. I found some stuff on the issue possibly being the TB or idle control, but im lost fellas and im lookin for any suggestions

Unplug the idle air control valve and the car should rev to about 12-1500 and go no higher (the ecu will hold it back), this will throw a IACV code but its a decent test to show if the idle air is working/controlling anything. If it doesn't change at all then something else is to blame. I wanna say it wouldn't be anything with EGR's either cause all my problems with EGR made my car hesitate while driving and low idle. Not make it idle high. Try that and come back with some reports!!

Take the IACV off and clean it. Is your CEL on as well as the TCS light? The TCS light often comes on with it.

Ya the CEL light is on, but it was on previously because when I put in the catback exhaust we took at the cat an d o2 sensor, so its straight back
But im thinkin it is definately something with the intake, because alot of my splashguard has been ripped away and the CAI filter has been exposed to water on a few occasions.
But with what moto said, where do I find the IACV, and when I come to a stop, the car idles very low and almost stalls out, at like 500 rpm

Alright well I looked at that thread and I dont know how to dismantle the throttle body and IACV, do I just start at the engine cover and work my way down?

Another thing to doublecheck is the coolant's level. If the coolant's low or there's air within the system, it can cause the idle to rev up and down.

Well it seems that the car is running fine without me tampering with the IACV, but I probably still take it off the clean it. And about the coolant 3.2TLc, I noticed it was a little low so I'll put in some when I get a chance and see what happens with that

If the coolant is low in the bottle or the radiator- check the cap for the res bottle- there should be a black rubber tube connected to the inside of the cap-
that reaches down into the bottem of the res fluid- its the transfer hose between the systems
It likes to fall off the cap and into the bottle- then no transfer= loss of fluid= rad gets low- air bubble= funky problems
Make sure you have the heater ON full HOT and follow the owner book directions -to the letter!!-
its not a normal burp - just like everything on this car- its acura's special way!
Check the rad cap for seal condition- worn rubber edges
If thats not it, have the system pressure tested to spot leaky hose connection or leak in hose or leak in radiator like on a seam seal
