I changed my transmission fluid recently with Honda ATF-Z1 (just 3qts) and 3 days later the TCS lights comes on while driving. Whats going on? What should I do? its long out of warrenty. When the light came on the car felt weird driving, would shift awkwardly. I am scared because I read that when the TCS light comes on it could be that the transmission is just about to die.

 

whens the last time the fluid was changed? does the tranny slip or shutter?

 

3qts was change around last October. The tranny does slip a little before the recent fluid change but its worst now like it would really skip hard. I know that I am due for a new transmission but it wasn't that bad until now.

 

Did you check the fluid level with the engine running after the change?

 

I checked it when the engine was off and warm and it was right at the top mark. Should I recheck it when the engine is on?

 

Yes, the transmission fluid dip-stick should be checked with the engine running. Most likely you might have over-filled or under-filled the atf. Good luck.
