Suspension / Brake Squeak

Just the last few days I noticed my car started to emit a squeaking noise when I would put it in R or D (as it rolls). It doesn't happen when I apply the brake or throttle.

Recently had my pads replaced (3 - 4 months ago) all four corners, but unfortunately didn't get to have my rotors replaced / machined. I think it's coming from driver side rear. Brakes feel fine, no shuddering or wobbling feeling, or other noises other than squeaking.

Any suggestions? Does weather have any effect? Thinking rotor issue, calipers / piston seized...?

Thanks

go back to the shop and ask them to look at it
We need pics or more info on this one

if brakes were lightly applied- then noise would relate to an edge on the rotors
but rolling ???

As usual, took your advice.. so took it to the shop lol

Problem fixed, turned out to be two things, but one of them being the major issue.

1. there was a bit of rush from my rotor that was flaking off and got in between the pad and was causing some issues. Nothing too serious according to them so took it apart and chipped off a few of the flakes.

2. ..but the main reason was a broken clip from my caliper. They explained thats what holds down the pads (not too familiar with this) and because it broke a piece of it was actually pressed on the rotor itself. Luckily had a spare piece there so just put that on.

Problem solved at least. This has been the worst year of maintanence for my TL haha

..guess it's not a laughing matter since it's costing me a fortune. Fml.

what a lousy shop!

the slider/retainer clips for the pads- its where they move in and out as caliper is operated,,are supposed to be removed, cleaned, and lubed with caliper grease

or if you follow the book- replaced with brake pad job
higher miles/year vehicles especially!
we are talking about 10 bucks worth of parts!

the rust flakes--if it was a major prob the edge of the rotor should have had a quick sanding if not being replaced,,to knock the rust off!

Ahh I see.. guess that's where they should've inspected it... but it happened within this week or so..

After taking my rotors off, they sanded it down a bit. Problem seemed to be fine after driving it around so let's hope no more issues. I plan on replacing my rotors early next year so hope 2012 is problem free!
