I put my glasses away the other day, same as always. When I went to get them out, it FLEW open, dropping the glasses before I even realized what had happened. There doesn't seem to be any damping on the rotation anymore...

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy fix?

 

Sounds like the spring which controls it came loose. Easiest thing is to remove the entire unit and work on it in on the ground. It's on the left side of the sunglass tray.

4 screws - 1 underneath the clear plastic bulb covers and 2 inside the sunglass compartment. Unplug the power cord and it'll come right down.
