Angry strange noise

i get a phone call from my friend saying that my car shut off on him while driving, his story goes that he ran through a puddle of water on a rainy day and the car suddenly bogged on him and shut off he tried to start it and it wouldnt start, he let the car sit for a couple of minutes and it started up. once i saw my car i heard a strange sound like a woooooing type of noise i called a friend of mine and he told me it might be the MAP sensor that water might be inside and it will be okay that the heat of the engine will take it away. its been a day now and its still going on please help !

If your stock intake, he would have to drive through a river to suck up water. Open your hood and listen for it. Where is it coming from?

I remember driving through a flood, and it killed my van outright.

It sounds like maybe a belt got wet. It probably didn't jump or anything, but the immediate temperature difference would mess up some stuff.

Listen for the noise to the left of the engine. Inspect all the components there.
