strange HID problem
strange HID problem
my drivers side headlight is acting up. turns on fine then goes out ONLY when i turn my high beams on and wont come back till i turn everything off then back on. im not very familiar with how HIDs work, its obviously not the bulb, could it be the ballast/ignitor? anyway to tell what it could be?
wonder if the wire has a leak (broken insulation) and the drag on the system drops that light to an unacceptable voltage? hmm.
the reason it won't fire back up until you turn it all off is because the igniter has to fire the initial spark for the light to fire up.

So did this occur with a lot of accessories on at the times?
Duplicate it maybe (if this is the case) by turning on headlights, then AC, Rear window defroster, step on brakes (maybe throw it in reverse), and then hit the brights. Thats about all the electrical drag I can conjure. Wait, Radio on!

yea actualy it happend again this morning, i can duplicate it many times on my way to work, then i tried it again on my way back and it was fine... i did a search and some people said it could just be the bulb(im running the original bulbs, 8yrs) i need to get new ones anyway because they are so faded the light output is horible and doesnt even really look like a HID no more.
