Stock Sub Out Issues
Guys (and gals),
Here's my problem. I added a sub and amp to my stock stereo and just hookup some RCA cables directly to the factory sub out. Well, when I turned on the car the stereo fuse broke and the stereo and both lighter thingies stopped working. I popped in a new fuse, turned on the car, and that one popped too. I disconnected the RCA cables from the amp, and popped in a new fuse, and everything worked fine. Again, when I connected the RCA cables again the fuse broke again. That's not my issue though...
(Long story short...) When I had a line converter hookedup to the stock sub out (instead of the RCA cable directly) everything worked fine. But now that I've tried to go back to the line converter, all I get is a continuous popping sound from my sub. At first I thought my amp was blown, so I reconnected the factory sub, and same thing. There's a constant ticking sound and it doesn't even pickup the bass from the music. Has anyone had this issue before? Or, do any of you know what the problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm absolutely positive! Everything was working perfectly when I had the LOC connected. It's only after I changed to the RCA's direct to the sub leads that the issue started. Like I said, even if I ONLY connect the stock sub, all it does is start popping repeatedly... I can't find anything on it in the forum...
I think it was the sub amp. Today I took out the back seat so I could get to the amp, and I disconnected the input to the amp. I then ran some speaker wires from the yellow and purple wires to a LOC and to my amp. It solved the bump bumping, but naturally, because the signal was being amplified before, I now have to turn the gain on the amp to near max. I gotta keep searching junkyards until I find another stock amp.
