Dude idk, I'm just guessing. I've never heard of that problem.

What have you recently done to the car? Any electric work or anything?

It's probably a loose connection somewhere, as I don't think anyone else has had that part break.

I Already told ya, You need to check your hood sensor or trunk sensor. A better way to do so is with the ODO itself.

Your ODO will put a little car in it and if you open a door it will show up so it will the trunk, So if any sensor has gone south it will always be On on your ODO. If anything looks okay Check your Hood Sensor.

Thats why you dont get the beeps, The beep itself is telling you that everything is OK.
Another feature that tells you so are the Parking Lights On/Off, If your parking lights turn On and Off just 2 times everything is OK in the System. If they dont turn ON/OFF 2 times something is wrong...
