Steering pull

My car is pulling to the right. I had an alignment done just 3 months ago and I have been careful driving the car ever since. I may have gone over some rough roads, but was careful.

Could it be something that is worn like a tie rod, stabilizer bar or suspension piece that is worn?

totally possible and something a good align shop cks for you- but many dont- they just set to spec and hope you come back for repairs at inflated prices

have a different shop give a diagnostic for problem of -wont hold align

control arm bushings are a popular failure, tie rod ends directly affect steering
is your car lowered? wears out those parts faster

even one good pothole or curb kiss can throw the alignment off

1> check your tire pressure....if once side is low it can result in a pull...
2> recheck your alignment...sometimes a small pothole results in a misalignment....its how u hit it and not how big it is....
3> do what 01tl4tl said....

Yes my car is lowered a bit with H&R Sport Springs. Could I just go to dealer and ask to check these parts without an alignment?

eff the dealer on this,,on most repairs actually,,nothing agaisnt the techs there, just how it all works and how much you get charged
(former insider turned whistleblower)

a real alignment shop,,not big name tire stores with a rack and corporate quotas...
that your car may be used to meet...,, look in phone book for a shop that specializes in this!

They will put in on the lift and inspect all the steering parts- control arms- bushings etc
and find the problem-- if its parts related..for free or minimal charge
dealer gets 1.5 hour diagnosis fee !!

but I'm with swoosh on this, ck the tire pressures
Guess who recently had a nail in the RF,,car had been pulling, mileage down,,
along with the air pressure from its normal 40 to 28
Im claiming ~its the wifes car~ she drives it way more than me,,but give her credit for seeing low tire pressure on 40 profile tires! they always look low!!

Try swapping the front tires side to side. If the car now pulls left or goes straight, you have a tire problem. I'd still get the front end and alignment checked.

I took the car to an alignment specialist. They fixed the steering pull. They found nothing wrong with any of the tie rods and such. Since my car was lowered a bit they found my camber off a bit. They recommended I get a camber kit for to fix that. Does anyone know where to get them for cheap?

I really wouldnt worry about camber. Especially if you are slightly lowered and its only off a bit. Just rotate your tires regularly and you will be fine.

I wouldn't get a camber get on such a mild drop.. but Ingalls are good if you really want a camber kit

if negative camber is less that 1.5 degrees you are fine !! Im neg 1.1 and 1.4 on mine

only if its pushing `neg 2 degree` will it cause major tire wear and kits are a good idea

in reality, It `turns in better to the corner` with that little extra negative camber = angle of tire to road
stock specs is 0 with a 1 degree limit

Yes the mechanic showed me the numbers on the machine. One side was like 1.1 the other 1.4.

I agree about turning into corners.

thats fine for negative camber--based on being the same as my car!
watch the front tire wear on the edges to know if anything is really wrong

shops always try to sell the camber kits, its a money maker
they know the spec allows from zero to neg 1,,a tick past that isnt reason to replace anything--you know its lowered and thats why its gone neg

If it were stock height and neg camber = you hit something!

While those camber numbers shouldn't cause excessive tire wear, they might cause a pull. Since you know the front end is in good shape, I'd be even more prone to swap the front tires side to side just to rule them out.

I just put back my all season tires on my car for the coming change in weather. The car goes straight as an arrow. Those guys did a really good job:

If anyone in the GTA east end area needs a good alignment shop, this is where I went:

Did it go straight after the alignment, or did swapping the tires do it?

I had low profile tires on 18inch wheels. They tracked the road surface so there was slight wandering. When going back to the my stock all season tires/rims. The car runs almost perfectly straight even on uneven pavement.

It seems almost all low profile wider tires tend to cause a wondering issue or pull. Gotaa love it.
