squeaky seat.

I have a squeaky driver seat. Anyone else have this issue? I can't tell exactly where in the seat the noise is coming from, and I can't seem to replicate the noise by shaking the seat when I'm not driving. It only happens on pretty rough roads...

I also get a squeak from driver's seat belt. When I wiggle my butt for relief from long sitting position the belt seems to rub against the side of seat. Only for a moment so no big deal for me. JC

it's usually from the seatbelt hose, use some WD40 and spary into that area

but the problem will not go away completely thou...

I've been trying to isolate this same problem. I have a '99 w/64.5K miles. I've noticed this squeaking at about 45K miles. Squeaks are more pronounced when the backrest is tilted more to the back and the seat raised a bit. So now I just set the seat as low as possible and recline only little, and its minimized. I notice also that it squeaks more when I accelerate. I have '99-'03 service manual and have been studying the front seat linkage. I'm convinced that slack has developed among the nuts that hold the recline adjuster or slide up/down adjuster. I hope that tightening them would fix it. I'll be looking into this once it gets cooler to work on it.

I took my driver's seat out and took it apart to wrap the rails via this service bulletin

it didn't help, so I'm still annoyed by the squeaking. I may not have bent the seat belt arm enough, but it may help. I can't take credit for finding this, fsttyms1 posted this in a thread a while back.

I've had my '99 since 99 and the seat has squeaked and rocked (slightly) for 8 years. I took it to the dealer once to fix it, and the fix lasted for about 3 days. I've learned to live with it. Sorry, i'm not much help.

Sounds like you didnt bend it enough. I did it on mine and it completely stopped it.
