Sputter and rugged ride

yo acura fam wuts good?? ur boy needs some help.

bout aweek ago my car ran fine. i stopped put some gas in and it immediately began running rugged and rough. engine light blinks non stop and my traction light stays on...i checked the manual...it said i may have not put the gas cap on right and should b ok in a few days..i called the dealer he said the same...nothing has happened. so i went ahead n ran out all the gas to see if it was bad gas. but its still rugged. ne one have this prob????

sounds like bad gas, but could be a coincidence i guess. try some engine cleaner (seafoam, techron, etc.) to see if it clears the rough idle up.

Is the check engine light on? If so, take it to Autozone and have them read the code. Then post it in this thread.

If not, I would disconnect the battery for 15 mins, then reconnect and see if the issue goes away.

engine light blinks all the time and tcs light stays on.....ive already put in some stuff for water in the gas n filter cleaner.

different products have different results
What did you put in the gas- and at what ratio?

i dont remember...but i went to advanced auto...i kno one was stp brand..in the usual little bottles they come in...she said i may need to run the gas out b4 it takes affect...

get some good stuff, Redline SI-1 will kick out grunge and crud
Use 1 bottle to 1/2 tank of gas

these gas caps must be put on and turned until you hear 3, count em- 3 clicks

A few more clicks is ok- doesnt matter,, its just spinning inside at that point,

Less than 3 may allow air in the system and cause fault codes and lights
Has to be on tight- check the seal condition too

the seal around the gas cap - is it clean and free of contaminants / trash that might cause a faulty seal?

sorry- thats right- the rubber seal on the part of the cap that faces into the car needs to be free of cracks, debris etc, It needs to seal!!
