Newbie here and I've been doing some research into buying a used 2nd gen TL. All this tranny talk scares me and is enough to make me look at something else. Anyway don't want to beat this issue to death but I've read the problem doesn't affect 99's, only 00-03 that has the 5 speed. Is that true? I've read the 99's with the 4 speed are fine but reading around seems like they have their share of failures. I'm looking at a 99 tomorrow with lots of promise but may pass on it if its just as prone to failing. TIA
