Before I tell the story, I'd like to get this out there. I can't park. At all. I'm extremely bad at it.

I was parking into my garage with my Lexus on one side and a pillar on the other. I had to reverse a little to get more room, and I was too close to the pillar. My side view mirror reversed right into the pillar, and it was pushed back a lot. Thankfully, the mirror is able to be folded. I just folded it back, and it was ok.

The problem is that the mirror itself got all messed up. I can move it around with the control still, but it freaks out when I put the car into reverse. The function to automatically tilt down during reverse is pushing it all the way down. When this happens, it just keeps clicking while trying to move.

How hard is it to take out the mirror and reinsert it? Does anyone have a link?

 

with the 3rd gen TL's, when the mirror wants to keep clicking down....all we do is just push it back up.

it operates on a track. it might have jumped acouple of teeth down. so just push it up a couple of clicks.
