Should I have a problem

Hey guys, I just noticed last week that the gas station that i normally go to has the same price for all 3 grades of gasoline, so i assumed they just had regular. I noticed this after filling my car up with what i thought to be premium. I went back there this week and it was still the same way, so i didnt gas there again. The problem is I've been getting gas there for a while and dont know how long they have been doing that. Here are my questions:

1. Do you think i have a lawsuit against them false advertising; they still have the 93 octane button available to press when you get gas, and there are NO signs saying they are out.

2. I did notice what my dad calls "Octane Knock" in my motor when i was running the regular when i would accelerate fast. Do you think this did any permanent damage?

3. Should I seafoam my car now that i have Premium back in it?

I have a 2002 TL-S and the gas station was a Wal-Mart fuel center (go figure). I am extremely pissed off when i found this out, but i noticed a DRAMATIC difference when i switched back to the premium.

thanks for your help

Why don't you ask the manager at the store what's going on?

You have to have proof that the gas in your tank wasn't premium. With the gas long gone and you running premium again you don't really have much. I'm sure a lot more than this will have to proven by you and you don't really have anything. Don't waste your time trying to sue.

Your ECU made adjustments for the fuel that was in there, and is making the adjustments back to the premium you have back in there.

Some seafoam through the tank won't hurt to do some cleaning that the gas might've gunked up.

I keep all my gas receipts, so wouldn't that be proof? I dont really think i need the evidence of the regular gas actually being in my tank anyways, regardless of whether it was in there or not, they are still allowing people to think they are getting premium when its all the same. do you kinda get where im coming from? plus, my university offers free attorneys, so i dont think it would hurt.

I dont suppose you live where there was/is a terrible gas shortage?

They only had regular in the tanks- because thats all that got distributed,
so they may have filled each starage tank with it

That lets people buy gas!!- 30k gallons of regular on hand instead of 10k in the normal regular tank beats no gas at all for most drivers

IN order for people to know it was all regular they had same price posted

No damage was done to your engine- when forced to run 87 just stay off the throttle - no racing no vtec

You can foam the tank if you want- more to clean garbage from the gas that may have gotten in during the storms and pipeline shutdown-startups than as penance for running 87

I understood about 1/8th of that statement.

I'm gonna seafoam my vac port and gas tank today, so hopefully that cleans out all the Sh*t that regular left behind.

Yes, I live in Florida, i suppose we were affected from Hurricane Ike, but all the other gas stations have premium. I think they should at least have some sort of sign up, or sticker over the 93 octane button. dont you agree? I'm a real stickler about my baby.

You may have pushed the 93 button, but you were getting regular and paid regular price for it. I'm sure they had a sign up that you didn't see.

I dont know...do you know what is in Wal-Mart's gasoline? Probably chinese children's tears and coconut oil....thats my guess. I will never go to that gas station again, no wonder why they have "the lowest prices"

I just did the Seafoam to the vac port and gas tank, drove the car for 10 min, let it sit for 10 minutes and started it back up. The Check Engine light is still on, Does anyone know why? Should i just go use a OBD2 sensor to reset it?

First of all, you drive then suck seafoam in vac line.. wait 10-15 minutes.. then go for the HARD drive. The CEL is normal for a little while and should go away. If it doesn't go away, pull the clock backup fuse for 15 minutes to reset the ECU.

...and you sucked the seafoam then the car turned off and waited 10-15 minutes for the HARD drive? ..notice I keep capitalizing HARD because a quick little cruise around the neighborhood isn't going to cut it.

Yes i went for a HARD drive...did i go over 100mph, no. but did i cruise around maybe 60mph pulling 4,000RPM, yes. for about 10-15 minutes. Is that hard enough?

You also want to do short bursts hitting VTEC a bunch of times.. really get it hot.

I was more concerned about the order you did things by your statement in post #13

The way you worded it makes it seem like you did the Seafoam went for the drive and then waited 10 minutes as opposed to doing the Seafoam waiting 10 mins then going for the drive.
