Seat warmers Burning!!!

I have a 2003 TL Type-S. I read numerous posts about how alot of the seat warmers fail. Well mine worked so-so i mean it took them 10 minutes to heat up. But the other day i tuned mine on high. After a while i smelled a funny smell... then my legs started burning, so bad i had to stop the car and get out. The funny smell was burning/melting plastic i beleve. The seat was very hot to my hand. There was no visually apparent burn through on the leather seat but it smelled awful for the rest of the day. I have been afraid to use my seat warmers since then. I am guessing its short or something, but thats kinda on the dangerous side. I would think there should be a fuse or some other precaution to prevent this. Anyone else had this happen to them?

Ditto on this one. Drivers seat very hot (frightening) on the front portion of the seat. Fortunately, no burnining odor. The seat no longer works (heat). Is this a potential recall issue? Happened only this week. Mine is also a 2003 TL-S

Me too

My seat heaters make my drivers seat scolding hot...to the point, I can't bare to keep it on for more than 10 minutes.
Anyone else have these problems?

my seat warmers get real hot too, but i just figure it's because it's on high. I'd say it's not to a point where i can't stand it and it's burning the shit out of my ass though.
