Screeching while in reverse

I have a 2001 Acura CL Type S. It has just started making this horrible screeching noise when I am in reverse. Turning the steering wheel and/or applying the brakes seems to make the noise worse. Any ideas? Thanks.

two things you can check, the power steering fluid, and the brake pads are probably worn out. Does it make noise when you steer left or right , without moving the car?

I haven't tried that. I just noticed (yesterday) that when I get put it in reverse and start moving the screeching starts. It doesn't sound like the normal warning noise you hear when your brake pads are getting close to worn out. I'll try turning the wheel when I get in it this afternoon.

I have the same problem. Is it really the breaks wearing out? or something else?

So bump.

its the brakes, i know it is,, happeend to me, my guess is that cold pads, cold rotors, and its in a motion (reverse) first thing in the morning, when all the normal wear is in drive.

Happens at all time of the day, I dont think it's cold breaks then. When i am not in reverse, it doesnt have any screeching sound except when i apply the break

The noise on my car stopped about a month ago but I went in last week and had to have all new brakes (and new rotors on the front). My suggestion is that if you have the noise to at least have the brakes inspected.
