Screeching noise when turning steering wheel

Lately I've been hearing this godawful screeching sound when I turn my steering wheel right after I startup my car... It only began recently, and it used to only happen when I turned my steering wheel to the extreme left or right. Today, it was even worse; it basically screeched whenever i turned the steering wheel. I even felt the steering wheel "slip" sorta, like the steering wheel turned without moving the wheels, and I felt a sort of weird slackness to the steering wheel.

These sounds/problems go away about a minute after driving my car.

What's going on? Time for a new steering belt?

Have you checked your power steering fluid?

Yep, your power steering belt is going. It's an easy fix, so do it yourself.
