i have the same problem as pzhoward...well i believe, i hope cuz that was some damn good advice. I started my car yest. and the rpms fluctuated low around 1000 for about 5 sec then gave it alittle gas and was fine. this only happens once on a bright full moon with my 99tl(196k) and im starting to think it is just the plugs as i cant rememeber the last time they were replaced. my maintenance and check eng lights are on as well as my srs lite(why that is only god knows..well I had some battery problems and at one time did pull by car alarm fuse out, but dont know if thats the case???) any suggestions would help out alot..thanks

 

Well you do know that those lights arent there just to make your dash look pretty?? When they are on it means something is wrong. Get your car to the dealer or at least a autozone or parts store to get the codes read. Find out whats wrong. Just because it "Seems" to be running right doesnt mean it is!!

Oh and with your SRS light on NONE of your airbags work. Meaning if you get into a accident they wont deploy. Use the search button and follow the instructions on resetting the SRS light.

yep factory it is...and i know something is wrong with it! just wanted to see if there were any other solutions to the problem with the quick fluctuations when starting(varies between 1000 and 2000 rpms) other than the IAC or the throttle body valve, which i have no idea what those two are..haha..shiat.... like possibly the cylinders could be misfiring..but i am definitely going to get those codes read asap..thanks again this stuff is helpful

 

i mean nothing wrong with the transmission..that runs fine..theres something wrong elsewhere along the fuel line or intake manifold..my bad
