Revving on its own!!
Revving on its own!!
Please dont flame me for posting about a pretty popular problem. It has been revving up from 1-2500 just like most people state. I have read about the problem and my only concern is it still safe to drive? I am going to drive it home tomorow and thats a 130 mile trip. The check engine light is on and everything. It does it off and on. Will my car be at risk for driving it this distance?
Is it doing that while idling or while you're driving?
If the former, then you should be okay. It's just the idle air control valve.
If the latter, then it could be a lot of things. Have you scanned the code yet? That would tell you what's wrong with it. For the time being, I wouldn't recommend a long trip if it's doing that while in motion.

it does it while its idling while driving it dosnt do that while driving otherwise my throttle would jump up and down. its only when idle. i talked to someone just now and they said theres a way you can get the code by doing tricks with turning it on and tapping brakes etc. does anyone know how to do that for a 2000 3.2tl?
