Required Maintenance light

this problem just started. I have a 2002 TL-S with 92,800 miles.

When I start my car the maint required light comes on and flashes about 5-6 times then shuts off. Is this anything to worry about or is it something built into the computer system to just say its about time to get the emissions checked out or something similar?

As for the Maint required light its in your manual on how to reset it as well.
It means nothing more than its time for a oil change (when properly reset) Its designed to come on full at 7500 miles.
With the car off,Press and hold the Trip and Reset light with 1 hand, while holding them BOTH in turn your key
to the RUN position (not start but run) and continue to hold them in till they turn off. It takes about 10 seconds.
DO NOT turn the key and then press the buttons in you will change the Outside Temp settings

to clarify- reach left hand thru top of steering wheel to push and hold BOTH trip buttons
Use right hand to turn key to ON but not to start
Watch the light flash several times then turn off
Remove hands and key

WHY ON EARTH would you take the time and waste the gas to bring it to acura when you can do it in your driveway, at work, at the mall, while getting your oil changed, at the bus stop, on the side of the road waiting to pick up a hooker, in the drive thru waiting for your food, at the gas station, i think you get my point, you can do it any where. Pull out the manual and follow the instructions, or follow the instructions above and do it yourself.

Its VERY easy takes you all of 10 sec to do (not 5) and requires you to go no where.
