Save yourself the money and get an aftermarket kit. Unless you want to blow a grand on a completely new oem kit, just spend about 120 bucks and get yourself something off ebay. That's what I did, I ordered a kit with 6K d2r bulbs and slim ballasts for 110 bucks shipped. Make sure you get a kit that has waterproof ballasts and preferably the bulbs as well.

So you could use them for a candle light dinner . . . in the rain, of course!

Go to the black market if you want a kit. Buy from the dealer if you want new ballasts (don't think they cost a grand ).

Are you sure that you need new ballasts, or are the lights not working for some other reason. Did you have condensation in the housings?

Dealer wanted 360 per ballast, and I'm sure bulbs are expensive too (mine all still work though, I tested them).
I know for a fact that my ballast isn't working, I had the condensation problem (driver's side).
I could've ebayed a new ballast for 250 bucks shipped on ebay, but I figured it's still a waste, why not see how a completely new kit works.
My headlight is now fixed and my kit is on the way. I'm going to install it myself, I did my fogs no problem (just take off the bumper and away you go).
I know headlights are a different story, but it shouldn't be very difficult at all.

cfive... 2flage is the seller, excellent feadback, good prices, prompt shipping.

fstt...I don't why I said waterproof bulbs too, kind of stupid on my part, but I definitely want waterproof ballasts just in case.

Do aftermarket, you'll save a shit load of money. The only thing is that you have to get creative with the ballast placement, what I did was put it in the same spot using one screw hole and the mounting bracket that came with the kit, along with 2 zip ties lol. Works great. for water proofing I went to home depot and got the largest rubber washer I could find with the smallest inside hole and used black silicone to stick it over the big hole that the old ballast sat under, then I used some other rubber ring thing i got and put it over top and siliconed that on also. I hooked the new ballasts under it to squish it all tight and it fits great, works perfect, and haven't had any moisture issues so far. It cost me just under 100 bucks shipped for all new ballasts, igniters, and 12000K bulbs.

Hey, before you assume its the ballasts check the igniter. I went out and bought a new bulb for a 120$ then i learned it was the igniter not the bulb or the ballast. I got it from ebay for about 50 dollars

HID Ballasts & igniters

I have some extra sets of the extra ballasts and igniters for the 2nd Gen that are new. They're matsushitas i believe for that model. If anyone is interested, I'll sell them reasonably. Let me know what you need.
