Replace the mirror ASAP.

The fluid inside the mirror can leak out can damage your interior. There is also some concern that fumes from the fluid might not be the best stuff to inhale.

See the following two threads:

You might be able to get a free replacement from your Acura dealer but that's probably a longshot.

The mirror manufacturer, Magna Donnelly, was sending out free replacements for a while but they suspended that program a couple of years ago. (They sent me a free one for my 1999 TL.)

You can buy a replacement from acuraoemparts.com for abotu $80. It's worth it. The newer version is a solid state instead of a liquid. If the current one bursts you can get sick and damage your car.

Good to know everyone. I'm having the same thing going on with mine. I didn't realize that it could be that dangerous. Good info.

I didn't realize the mirror could cause so many problems either! Mine seems to intact mechanically, but it's loose and constantly requires readjustment. I'll pikc up a new one soon.

There is a service bulletin about that. It's a small part inside the mounting of the mirror that needs to be replaced. I'm away on a trip right now, but if nobody else comes up with it I will look at it when I get back on Tuesday.

That's very interesting. I didn't realize that there was a service bulletin out. My replacement mirror started to loosen up months after I installed it. I fixed that by applying a thin film of silicone sealant between the two interlocking mounting parts. That worked out great.

Yeah if my memory serves me correct it has something to do with a spring inside the mount. It's like 6 bucks or something. I will double check when I get back home in a couple of days if no one else can locate it.
